The Curse of Moses' Wilderness

I fear I will never get out of this wilderness...

My shoes don't wear out, but I'm tired of walking in circles.

I feel like I'm starving on this manna stuff, but I'll choke on the meat...

I look to the brazen serpent, but these snake bites still hurt...

You parted the sea, and delivered me from mine enemies, but I fear I won't make it out of this wilderness.

I have been brought here to prove my heart, but I seem to have expended the mercy and grace that was afforded me.

What do I do?

Was I not one who spyed out the land and saw that it was good?!

Did I not say, "let's go now!"?

Wherein have I erred that the earth will now swallow me up?

Wherein have I erred that I must die here in this wilderness so that the children can cross over into that which was promised to me?

And if I die here in this wilderness, then who will preach? They can't know without a preacher...

Have I already preached, and become the castaway?

Is this my fate, instead of perishing in the belly of a great fish?

Do I not get my gourd plant for the worm to feast on?

Woe unto me, o wretched soul that I am!

What To Do...

Very, VERY disappointed with JGLM.

On February 15 & 16 they had some guy named Derek Ott come and teach...

Wow! What a mess!

I have never had my relationship with Jesus Christ so insulted before; this guy is a real class act.

I shut down my Facebook group and was about to disassociate myself with Curry and JGLM. I had to pray and come to terms with the whole thing.

The conclusion was this:
I have no ties or loyalty to JGLM at all. The whole reason I started recording and sharing Curry's messages was because nobody else was and I couldn't get anything from JGLM in that regard. So, I liked Curry and I like his message. So, I guess I would just keep recording and sharing...

Well, that was until February 23. Curry fully endorses Derek Ott and said he's been after him for 2 years. Curry is going to make him an assistant/associate pastor.

Wow... what do you say to that? I mean, this Derek guy completely insults and degrades my Christ and my relationship with Him, he insults and degrades the prophets of the Bible, and yet he somehow thinks he is a "teacher of prophecy and how to prophecy"? He uses all the right scriptures in the wrong way.

"...and those who are ignorant and unstable have twisted his letters to mean something quite different, just as they do with other parts of Scripture. And this will result in their destruction. I am warning you ahead of time, dear friends. Be on guard so that you will not be carried away by the errors of these wicked people and lose your own secure footing." - 2 Peter 3:16-17

This is where the Lord led me on January 23rd-

"This is what the LORD of Heaven's Armies, the God of Israel, says: "Do not let your prophets and fortune-tellers who are with you in the land of Babylon trick you. Do not listen to their dreams, because they are telling you lies in My name. I have not sent them," says the LORD."  - Jeremiah 29:8-9

There is some comfort in that Curry says he has the "global" ministry going and now he is focusing on the "local".

Okay, but why broadcast Derek Ott if he is there to just teach the local assembly? Curry's response was "too bad" and the congregation laughs.

Nice.

Nothing like a flippant attitude after you've been insulted and your faith has been shaken.

I'm very disappointed, but then, I've always been very disappointed with JGLM. They have always been terrible about answering questions, communication, keeping their end of the "partner" program, the forum...

...but I always liked Curry's message. The message is Bible, plain and simple.

I guess I'm done with them; I don't know... It just hurts. Curry used to be a constant, something I could rely on. The message was sound. But they seem to be giving heed to the "itching ears" and "heaping up teachers"... It is sad that they have been influenced to do this, and are subsequently influenced by the teachings. Of course, if Curry has planned this for a few years, then it was happening before I started watching him.

So, I guess if Curry is working on the local part of his ministry, that's fine; I'm not a part of that. So I guess this is the end for now.

It still seems sad...

Teachings

They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that! They are the kind who work their way into people's homes and win the confidence of vulnerable women who are burdened with the guilt of sin and controlled by various desires. (Such women are forever following new teachings, but they are never able to understand the truth.) These teachers oppose the truth just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses. They have depraved minds and a counterfeit faith.  - 2 Timothy 3:5-8

For God made Adam first, and afterward he made Eve. And it was not Adam who was deceived by Satan. The woman was deceived, and sin was the result.  - 1 Timothy 2:13-14

My Thoughts Toward You

It was impressed upon me-

God's thoughts toward me...

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."  - Jeremiah 29:11

But, it gets more interesting when you read it in context of the chapter-

"This is what the LORD of Heaven's Armies, the God of Israel, says to all the captives He has exiled to Babylon from Jerusalem: "Build homes, and plan to stay. Plant gardens, and eat the food they produce. Marry and have children. Then find spouses for them so that you may have many grandchildren. Multiply! Do not dwindle away! And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare." This is what the LORD of Heaven's Armies, the God of Israel, says: "Do not let your prophets and fortune-tellers who are with you in the land of Babylon trick you. Do not listen to their dreams, because they are telling you lies in My name. I have not sent them," says the LORD. This is what the LORD says: "You will be in Babylon for seventy years. But then I will come and do for you all the good things I have promised, and I will bring you home again. For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me. I will be found by you," says the LORD. "I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land."  - Jeremiah 29:4-1
