Greene County Tornados

I'm thankful for my family's safety, but then I didn't really have any doubts...

It's the rest of the county that concerns me. We (that includes me) need to get our hearts right. I mean REAL repentance. Not just praying when things are bad... I mean, what do we do with (or about) God during the good times? Everybody knows or has an opinion about God, but God is not impressed with that.

A REAL son wants to make his dad happy. A bad son gets the rod! So, do we make God our Father happy or do we get the rod?!

We whine and fuss and cry when things get bad, but what about the good times?

If we look in the Old Testament, the Israelites whined and belly-ached, and THEY DIDN"T MAKE IT!!! One time Moses cried out to God and God replied, "What is this belly-aching I hear in my ears? I told you what to do, now do it." (Duane's Paraphrase Bible ;) ) The Israelites did NOT make God happy and they didn't make it.

So, I'm sayin', are we gonna' make it?

Ah, I'm getting all preachy now...

This storm just ripped my heart in two.

My time to act is not now, and that's driving me crazy (short trip).

My time to do something about this is somewhere in the future, whether days or years.

Patience- the patient man has everything he needs http://bible.us/Jas1.4.NIV

http://bible.us/2Pet1.8.NLT (actually verses 4-8).

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(2 Peter 1:4-8 KJV)
