Do NOT Lose Heart

More from Sunday Morning...

In Sunday school, God was trying to encourage me. Don't be discouraged; don't lose heart!

Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart,
Luke 18:1 NASB

"I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?" Luke 18:8 NASB

Well, will He?

Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart, 2 Corinthians 4:1 NASB

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves; 2 Corinthians 4:7 NASB

Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:16 NASB

When Sunday School was over, a dear friend gave me a piece of paper. She said, "that's for you!"

The paper said-

...for there is no question that He will do what He says. Hebrews 10:23

If you have a promise from God, hold fast to it. Don't give up on it. Hold on to...

Don't be discouraged.

Don't lose heart.

Don't give up.

The Heart Is Sick

Sunday morning was quite busy...

God said,

"The heart is sick"

The heart is sick?

"The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it? "I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give to each man according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds." Jeremiah 17:9-10 NASB

This reminds me of how/what started all of this-

Where will you be stricken again, As you continue in your rebellion? The whole head is sick And the whole heart is faint. Isaiah 1:5 NASB

If you continue to read in that chapter-

"So when you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide My eyes from you; Yes, even though you multiply prayers, I will not listen. Your hands are covered with blood. "Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Remove the evil of your deeds from My sight. Cease to do evil, Learn to do good... Isaiah 1:15-17 NASB

In the Bible, the words "Heart" and "spirit" can be readily interchanged.

All of this is referring to the spiritual condition of the people.

These staunch warnings keep coming and the worship is confounded in the house of God.

Someone said that they kept hearing a trumpet when God was speaking-

'They have blown the trumpet and made everything ready, but no one is going to the battle, for My wrath is against all their multitude. 'The sword is outside and the plague and the famine are within... Ezekiel 7:14-15 NASB

This goes back to what God was saying on December 4th; it starts in Ezekiel 7, is reiterated in Ezekiel 21, and is broken down for the New Testament church in Hebrews 12.

I don't know how else to say this-

But you have forgotten that the Scriptures say to God's children, "When the Lord punishes you, don't make light of it... Hebrews 12:5 CEV

We have all been warned.

God says "Take heed"

... To Go To Heaven

A little before 4AM I awoke.

I almost missed what was going on just prior to this; there was a sermon being preached within me.

It was something along the lines of -

...this will not get you into heaven!

This was followed by -

 [Matthew 5:2-12 NASB]
2  He opened His mouth and began to teach them, saying,
3  "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4  "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
5  "Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.
6  "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
7  "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
8  "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
9  "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
10  "Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11  "Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.
12  "Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

That was interesting, but it was only the beginning!
