Vents Wide Open, Still Suffocating...

"For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There's no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death."
 - 2 Corinthians 7:10

I came across that gem early this morning when I was venting on my blog.

Worldly sorrow... spiritual death...

Oh, yes, the faith killers have come,
seeking my soul,
binding me in a pit of despair with chains of my own creation.

I eat the bread of sorrow
ground from the harvest of thorns
from a well planted crop that I have sown.

I scowl at death,
it sneers in reply
knowing the anguish of the devices I invented.

"Oh death, where is thy sting?
Oh grave, where is thy victory?"
Right here! Deep within my heart! And I have driven your thorn deep.

Repentance and regret,
a key and curse,
oh faith! Where is your strength?

Trample Under Foot...

I was trying to settle down in prayer and get ready for a day of prayer and Bible study and that's what I
heard- "Trample under foot..."

The 2 references that stand out are Jeremiah 12:10 talking about God's vineyard and Hebrews 10:29 talking about the Son of God, the Blood, and the Holy Spirit.

The reference in Jeremiah talks of sowing wheat, but harvesting thorns. The Hebrews reference speaks of the need of patient endurance to make it to the end...

One-sided

I saw a container with a very odd shape. It was to the right.

In it was a rich blue liquid. The liquid was thick and moving.

I heard, "one-sided".

Your Word, O Lord

Sunday, I heard "Your Word, O Lord..."

I started researching:

Salvation is by the Word of the Lord, and it gives you a way to answer your enemies.
You can trust God's Word, written or revealed. Faith in it give freedom (vs 45)

God deals with us according to His Word.
For us to keep God's Word, helps us to escape/avoid affliction.

God's Word is settle in Heaven.
Think about that...
In Heaven there are no fears, no questions, no anxiety, no doubts, no anguish, no pain, no suffering...

So, if God's Word was settled in our heart,
Then we would be
confident, knowledgeable, fearless, peaceful, joyful, powerful...

And if we settled God's Word in the world around us,
how different would that world be?!

We are "revived" by the Word of God.

We get understanding by the Word of God.
We also get deliverance by the Word of God

Anonymity

Nobody REALLY knows me...

... and that's a good thing.

When people try to "judge" me, as in, condemn me for my actions or beliefs, then they are fools; they don't "know" me so they aren't qualified to condemn me.

Elijah

I had Elijah on my mind this morning. I was thinking about him being fed by birds, by the brook, all alone. When the brook dried up, he had to leave.

That's kinda' like me: I've been to different places (churches they called them), and needed every little morsel I was getting there. When it dried up, God always told me to leave.

That all alone feeling, a famine in the land... all too familiar.

Then, I find Curry preaching in South Africa, live on the internet. And, where does he have us turn to in our Bibles, yep, 1 Kings 17- Elijah!

There is something about the widow woman that really strikes a chord with me, but it is something for the future; I don't know what it is, just that it means something for later.

Curry was really hammering raising the dead too...

A famine in the land, living on morsels, wandering through a wasteland, lonely, and a need for the "dead" to rise; interesting...

I don't know Curry Blake, and have never met him in person, but he is the only one that makes any sense any more scripturally. I'm synced up with him and always seem to know what he going to teach about or at least desperately need what he has to offer. I know that's God, via the Holy Spirit.

In contrast, I also realized today that I am "synced up" with somebody else, but this is not good. He is one of the owners where I work, and our "relationship" has been sordid at best. My fear of his reaction (based on previous "reactions") renders me only but half effective at best at work. Most people can't possibly understand, but then it seems that even at his worst, he still treats others better; it is WAY WAY worse than the proverbial red-headed step child thing.

Immediately after the service was done on the internet, I had to pray. I forgave the owner and released him. Other people came to mind and I forgave them and released them too. But, then there's this one guy; something is off about him. I don't know what it is. It's not me; something is just wrong. Praying for that one was hard. It wasn't that I didn't want to forgive him, but there was more to it than I understood. I forgave him for all of the oppression he had caused me and it was followed by "Go. And sin no more."

I'm not sure "how" I am supposed to pray for him, but I'm going to focus some prayer time specifically for him.

Ezekiel Syndrome

"Ezekiel Syndrome" :

the compulsion to "live" or act out situations or revelations.

It is oft divinely inspired and motivated.

Most times it is misunderstood...

What Is This?

Isaiah 52:5    What is this?" asks the LORD. "Why are My people enslaved again? Those who rule them shout in exultation. My name is blasphemed all day long.

Exodus 14:15    Then the LORD said to Moses, "Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the people to get moving!

Business As Usual...

There is nothing sacred anymore...

The message offered today was a shipwreck; such a disappointment!

"If you are flipping burgers at 18- okay;
if you're still flippin' at 42, you should own the place"?

So, would you say that to Moses? He was sheep-herding at 42 and didn't get going till 80...

Or, how about Caleb?! He was well into his 80's when he finally received his, and he still had to whip giants to get it.

"I didn't come with the discernment chip..."

Okay,

"But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil." - Hebrews 5:14

I was waiting all week to hear today's message...

... then I found out there was a guest speaker...

I should have just turned him off...

It's a real shame when you get more good out of a secular TV show than you do from what's supposed to be "church".

Names

Seventh Day Adventists are true to their name because they do something on the seventh day.

That would make all the others "Sixth Day Non-Events"; nothing happens, but they keep getting together on the sixth day of every week.

"Non-Denominational" is a terrible name because the name means that they have no value, class, or designation.

Catholics seem true to their name because they are broad minded and liberal.

I guess that's why I don't fit in with "church people"; I don't fit into the categories.

Get Your Confession Right!

It's amazing when you figure something out.

It's better to speak it out loud.

"...For whatever is in your heart determines what you say." - Matthew 12:34b NLT

"For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved." - Romans 10:10 NLT

I started saying out loud to people at work, "I'm not here for the money; I'm here for character development."

"If I can look somebody in the eye that wants to destroy me and say, 'it doesn't matter; I love you anyway.' Then God can use me anywhere for anything at anytime."

I started saying that to everyone.

The next week my hours at work went from 20 to 35.

Then they went from 35 to 40, but the 40 actually went into overtime.

Amazing? Yes!
