Vents Wide Open, Still Suffocating...

"For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There's no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death."
 - 2 Corinthians 7:10

I came across that gem early this morning when I was venting on my blog.

Worldly sorrow... spiritual death...

Oh, yes, the faith killers have come,
seeking my soul,
binding me in a pit of despair with chains of my own creation.

I eat the bread of sorrow
ground from the harvest of thorns
from a well planted crop that I have sown.

I scowl at death,
it sneers in reply
knowing the anguish of the devices I invented.

"Oh death, where is thy sting?
Oh grave, where is thy victory?"
Right here! Deep within my heart! And I have driven your thorn deep.

Repentance and regret,
a key and curse,
oh faith! Where is your strength?

Trample Under Foot...

I was trying to settle down in prayer and get ready for a day of prayer and Bible study and that's what I
heard- "Trample under foot..."

The 2 references that stand out are Jeremiah 12:10 talking about God's vineyard and Hebrews 10:29 talking about the Son of God, the Blood, and the Holy Spirit.

The reference in Jeremiah talks of sowing wheat, but harvesting thorns. The Hebrews reference speaks of the need of patient endurance to make it to the end...

One-sided

I saw a container with a very odd shape. It was to the right.

In it was a rich blue liquid. The liquid was thick and moving.

I heard, "one-sided".
