Communion, Repentance, And the Eagle

Friday was very strange.

It was "Good Friday" of which that seemed like a great time to have a church service and communion.

It was before communion that God's wrath was stirred. I didn't quite understand what was going on but I saw myself throwing my communion cup and the juice flying everywhere; then it was if I heard "THE BLOOD IS ON YOUR HEADS!"

That shocked me. I asked God if he wanted me to actually do that....

The pastor's disposition changed to one of brokenness; he then led everyone to pray and to have God search them thoroughly.

Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly.  - 1 Corinthians 11:27-29 NASB

That's serious.

There is another verse:

But when they resisted and blasphemed, he shook out his garments and said to them, "Your blood be on your own heads! I am clean. From now on I will go to the Gentiles."  - Acts 18:6 NASB

That verse shocks me... I'm not going to get into that at this time...

The next thing I saw was an eagle or a man. I could see the eye, then the rest came into view slowly. Around the eye was what appeared to be dark feathers, brown and black. At first it looked like a bird, sort of like an eagle, but as more of the face came into view, it was more man-like.

This could go a few different ways.

The cherubim that Ezekiel described (Ezekiel 1:10, 10:14) had a face likened to an eagle, as did John's description in Revelation 4:7.

The other reference that is interesting is in Ezekiel 17. It has to do with two eagles and Jerusalem. The problem was Jerusalem trying to use Egypt as an ally.

I'm looking forward to the understanding of all this.

"...and with all thy getting get understanding."  - Proverbs 4:7 KJV
